  2. I have heard about GPS before. I have seen smartphones having GPS but this is my first time to manipulate this fascinating gadget. As a General Science Teacher, I can use this in my lessons especially in Geography and the Formation of the Earth.
Our school is located near the coastal area. If I will have a project using GIS and GPS, that would be Changes of the Coastal Area through Time and even the erosion of the river banks through time..

  5. 1. it is really a new experience to me. i have heard GPS before but i have never experienced getting waypoints and tracks using the device.
2.as a teacher, it encourages me to learn more about GIS and GPS.
    3. GPS and GIS will be best used in a project for locating possible evacuation area in any case of tsunami, by determining the elevation of the specified location and the shortest possible route to get to the location.

  6. 1. Yes. It was new to me.
    2. Since it makes use of gadgets and computers, it allows the students to develop their manipulative skills and also promote discovery learning. The teacher's role will only be a facilitator, less talk and more experience for the students.
3.With GIS: Regions and Places in the Philippines tracked by typhoons
With GPS: Surveying the River Terraines of Hindang, Iligan City.

  7. GPS? Don’t have a tinge hint bout it. But, when speakers connected it to GPRS that’s the moment opinions and ideas popped out on my mind. It will be a big help to us for we can use this as a teaching materials in school. Students can visualize the task they are going to do which is mapping out places.

  8. GPS is already an old type of technology but using this tool to our classroom instruction is quite new. I'm so glad that the trainers allow us to maneuver the gadget because I thought that this training will be all about surfing the internet that always give me an headache. At least, I've experienced using it. We went outside to test the device. The GPS device is like a cellphone and it's easy to use. After tracking, we have downloaded it to the computer. On the computer, our tracks are marked and we saw the trails that we passed. GPS device records the latitude. longitude and altitude of your location. Now, for the projects of using GIS and GPS I think that determining the hotspots of cell sites of Tomas Cabili will be very applicable. Students will be able to map the sites. Students will be interested about this. Thank you so much for this memorable experience.(n_n)

  9. 1. Yes it was new to me at the start but as it went on, i noticed that we've been doing these in our daily in school and even at home. Only , we were not aware that it's GIS and GPS.
2.Yes, it does am sure but we don't have the gadgets to use.
3 Letting the students make a Map for easier tracking if they are not attending classes.

  11. Yes, it was new to us.We have some fun in manipulating the GPS.
Being a teacher, it would help me a lot in locating places, since I am very poor in follwing directions in going to a certain place.
IT can be of big help if you are going to require the students to locate the different landforms within a locality

  12. Yes, its new to me because i never had touched a gadget like that before. but learning from a speaker that it associated with GPRS, I must say it isn't entirely new. i'm just so thankful that i am part of this 3-day seminar. the experience will certainly help me in designing an appropriate lesson in my science subjects.

on the project that i am planning to do, GPS will be used to teach speed, velocity, and other related topics in mechanics. students will be asked to gather, graph and interpret data with the use of GPS.

  15. GPS is not really new to me since I already heard this before, but I don’t know how to use this not until today. GPS is a great help to us General Science teachers because it enhances the accuracy and credibility of geographical field work. It enables us to bring maps and aerial photographs to life. GPS is an essential safety and navigation aid and provides opportunities for fun educational activities for example treasure hunting. Consumer-grade GPS units provide inexpensive means to collect spatial date during field trips.

  16. 1. I just know its meaning but i didn't know how to use it because i thought it would require hi-tech gadgets to determine global positioning.
    2. Maybe i can get their attention since any activity which involve manipulation with gadgets and also outdoor trips like tracking using the GPS gadget seem to interest them.
    3. Roughly, a study on the flora and fauna located in a certain spot around Iligan City, the Nature's Park, for example, in the vicinity of Ma. Cristina Falls.

  18. 1.Yes,GPS is very new to me,though I'm familiar with the terms but I'm not well-versed on the entire context.
2.GPS is very effective and an efficient tool for my teaching-learning endeavors. It helps ensure greater retention of learned materials for global interactive learning.
3.I plan to let my students design a project on the tool they could use to track their good study habits and to find ways to counter-act their addictions on computer games.
